Welcome Dr. Laschuk!
We are happy to announce that Dr. Michael Laschuk has joined the team at Great Lakes Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Centre.
Dr. Laschuk, a Windsor native, completed his OMFS residency at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, he completed three years of undergraduate training studying Chemistry at the University of Windsor. He then went on to complete his dental school training in 2013 at the University of Toronto. In 2015, he returned to Toronto and completed a one year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship.
Warm welcome and lots of good wishes to Dr. Laschuk as he becomes a part of our growing team. We are excited to see what the future holds.
In light of the spread of COVID-19, we want you to know that your safety is our number one priority.
Our practice has implemented universal safety precautions as outlined by the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), and the Ontario Dental Association (ODA). We have taken extensive measures to protect our patients and team with the following protocols:
• A mask must be worn when entering the building.
• Each patient is screened for any COVID symptoms or travel prior to being booked for any appointment.
• In compliance with the recommendations for public health, anyone with a cough, fever or flu like symptoms will not be allowed into the building and should stay home. We will gladly reschedule your appointment for a later date.
• Upon entering the building, you will be asked to sanitize your hands.
• Our entire staff has the proper protective equipment which includes fit tested N95 masks, gowns, face shields, eye protection, gloves, booties to ensure that yourself and our office is completely protected.
• We ensure there is the appropriate time between procedures to allow for the necessary air changes.
• Every room is extensively cleaned after each procedure.
• We updated our processes and procedures to limit the amount of traffic in the office at any one time.
These are some of the many precautions our office has implemented to provide a safe, comfortable environment.

If you have a printer, our health history form can be printed and filled out prior to your first appointment with us, saving you time at our office.
Dr. Shuren, Dr. Stapleford, Dr. Walker, and Dr. Laschuk have current and advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial problems from the simple to the complex. This involves the expertise in: the removal of difficult or impacted teeth (wisdom teeth), the placement of dental implants, the management of facial injuries and infections, the treatment of dental and skeletal deformity (orthognathic surgery), the surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, facial and jaw reconstruction procedures and care for other diseases (pathology) and aesthetic concerns of the oral and maxillofacial region and related structures.
Great Lakes Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Centre takes great pride in bringing their patients the latest in technologically advanced, comfort oriented oral and maxillofacial surgical care. Both of our Tecumseh and Chatham offices are independently inspected outpatient surgical facility is equipped with modern specialized equipment. They are staffed with a highly trained, experienced and compassionate team of caring professionals.
Our surgical-anaesthetic suites are inspected and approved by The Royal College. Patients undergoing surgical procedures in the suites are constantly monitored by qualified, certified medical specialists in anaesthesia to ensure optimal care and safety. Any procedure that can be safely done on an outpatient basis can be safely done in our office setting, avoiding potentially inconvenient and time-consuming hospitalization. All Doctors have active hospital privileges, and have regular operating hospital time.
